From Seed To Fruit: The California Cantaloupe Countdown
While you’re browsing the delicious selection of large, juicy California cantaloupe in your local grocery store, do you ever wonder how those big cantaloupes start from a seed and grow to be so huge? We asked one of our California cantaloupe farmers to document this process by taking photos of the fields throughout the growing season. We then compiled some of these images to create a video slideshow so you can see the transformation of a California cantaloupe from its early days to the time of harvest!

Did you know that California produces about 75% of all cantaloupe grown in the nation?
This can be attributed, in part, to the fact that cantaloupe planting takes place in California throughout the year, which results in a harvesting period that lasts from April through December. This long season means more delectable, juicy California cantaloupe for you and your family!
