Cantaloupe and Adventure are Back on the Menu!
Summer is here and things are finally starting to look up just in time for sunny, sweet and safe California cantaloupes to hit stores again!
COVID peaked here in California right around the holidays and it felt as if life would never get back to normal. But just as we can count on the changing of the seasons and the return of sweet cantaloupe every summer, life is starting to get back to normal — thanks mostly to the development of the COVID vaccine.
As we all quickly learned last year, our lives depend dramatically on our essential workforce. That’s why as soon as vaccines were available, California cantaloupe farmers came together to ensure employees who work to harvest, pack and ship our favorite summer fruit were protected. Our very own California cantaloupe farmers and packers held a vaccination event back in February where over 800 of their workers were able to get vaccinated!
That’s not to say this season won’t be without its challenges for cantaloupe lovers and farmers alike, but you can still count on seeing plenty of sweet California cantaloupes in stores this summer and into the fall.
In the spirit of getting back to normal life (or at least something that resembles normal) we are once again offering our cantaloupe-loving fans the chance to win some awesome prizes!
