Melon Berry Chocolate Dessert Salad
A rich chocolate sauce elevates this fruit salad for an indulgent treat.
- 1 medium cantaloupe, washed, peeled, and cubed
- 1 pound strawberries, washed, stems removed, quartered
- chocolate sauce for drizzling (recipe below)
- fresh mint
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons coconut oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Heat water with brown sugar in heavy saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk until sugar dissolves.
Add cocoa and salt. Whisk until smooth.
Add oil and vanilla. Whisk until oil has melted.
Cool to room temperature.
Chill cantaloupe and strawberries.
Arrange cantaloupe, strawberries, and mint on a plate or in a bowl.
Drizzle (or pour) room-temperature chocolate sauce over fruit.
*Chocolate sauce will keep if covered and refrigerated. Reheat when ready to use.
